Technology should make citizens more powerful.
Percayso Community starts from one thesis: as AI makes organisations more productive, the people around it should own more of the capability, not less.
The transition
Artificial intelligence can make society vastly more productive while reducing the amount of human labour required to produce goods and services. For citizens, that challenges the mechanism through which most people currently receive income and economic status. For companies, automation becomes a competitive necessity. For government, a shrinking labour share can weaken employment taxes while increasing pressure on welfare and public services.
The risk is not scarcity. It is an abundance economy in which ownership of productive capability becomes increasingly concentrated and ordinary citizens have less direct access to the value being created.
AI should increase the economic power of citizens, not merely the efficiency of corporations.
The alternative
Percayso Community does not seek to slow automation. It seeks to widen access to the ownership and productive use of the technologies driving it.
AI and robotics make human labour less scarce. The Community's answer begins with what each person already has: a machine, some storage, an idea for an app or a skill.
What the Community builds
Piper gives the Citizen a digital environment they own. Cayso, the Community's service credit, pays for what they use and for what they contribute; the Open Treasury is the page for its supply. Percayso Cloud joins Percayso's Core Nodes with the machines Contributors offer. The App & Skill Store is where Creators sell apps and skills. How it works has the six parts.
Ownership is the decisive question
If intelligent machines perform an increasing proportion of valuable work, the central question gradually shifts from “who has a job?” to “who owns productive intelligence and productive machines?” Percayso Community is built so that a Citizen's Piper is theirs to take elsewhere, without Percayso's cooperation.
The thesis's test
Every major part of the Community should be tested against one question:
Does this increase the citizen's ownership, productive capability, economic participation or bargaining power?
That is how the founders judge their own work. The Community's rules are its constitution.
The thesis
Percayso Community exists to help society capture the productivity benefits of AI without allowing those benefits to disconnect citizens from economic participation. It is not anti-technology. It is designed for a world in which technology becomes extraordinarily powerful — and citizens need to remain powerful too.
The Community's rules will be set out in its constitution.
AI makes human labour less scarce. People must not become economically irrelevant.
Become a Citizen and help build it.
